Balmuri and Edmuri Waterfalls

Travelling towards the Krishnarajasagar Dam from the city of Mysore, the main road takes a detour and three kilometers ahead of that detour are the most popular waterfalls in the city of Mysore which are the Balmuri Waterfalls and Edmuri Waterfalls. Surrounded by lush green natural beauty, the location serves as a picturesque hotspot for tourists as well its natives who live there and enjoy every part of it. Near these waterfalls, there is enough space to spread your picnic mats and enjoy goodies, playing around. You can also pay a holy visit to the temple of Lord Ganesha that is very close-by. It's a small ancient temple.

To reach here, you will be required to hire a taxi or an auto. You can also be here through a KSRTC bus that takes you to the KRS Dam. The place is perfect to give you a wonderful holiday or picnic experience, the ambiance being really very pleasant.

Blue Lagoons

At a distance of just about 2kms from KRS dam, there is a small and lovely island that got created by the backwaters of KRD dam itself, enchanting everyone who is around. You can get to the place through your way in the shallow waters surrounding the island. Being an amazing picnic spot, the island is visited most by the picnickers. You would love to be here again and again provided you take extra care and precautions while crossing those waters, despite the fact that they are shallow.

GRS Fantasy Park

GRS Fantasy Park is where almost everyone would like to go for complete fun. It is an amusement and a Water Park, that can give a good competition to any other amusement park, be it in any modern city of India. Covering over 30 acres, the park quenches the entertainment thirst of all ages, young, not so young and the old. The young people can indulge into exciting adrenaline-pumping rides in the park, while those not interested or who cannot, can enjoy relaxing in the Country Club. Here they can participate in a variety of indoor games. The park offers complete entertainment to the entire family by letting them have a thrilling experience, yet in a safe environment. There is a unique ride that the park can boast of. It is a huge slide reaching to the height of 35 feet having a width of 135 feet. As you take this ride, you will feel both kinds of motion - forward as well as backward, that too at a height of 35 feet and that is what makes the ride super-thrilling. The park is open to the public from 10.30am to 6.00pm every day.

Bandipur National Park

Bandipur National Park is considered to be one of the most lovely and the well-managed national parks in India. Located amidst the picturesque surroundings of the towering Western Ghat Mountains on the Mysore-Ooty highway in Karnataka, Bandipur National Park covers an area of about 874.2 sq km. Together with Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala and Nagarhole National Park in the North, it creates the India's biggest biosphere reserve popularly known as the 'Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve'. The park lies enroute the highway to Ooty and there is a special safari point in the park where people undertake their picnics. The cost per trip for Indian citizens is INR 300 and for foreigners is INR 1100.
