Mysore One Day Tour

In today's world where time is money, flash visits have become the need of the hour. People seem to constantly be in a rush which is why they always want to do things quickly. Going on a holiday is another factor that gets added to the 'Quickly do things' list.

It may often happen that you have been granted an off for the weekend and you land up at your favourite holiday spot which you wished to visit for years, but since you have less time on your hands, you do not know from where do you begin.

There are many places in India which have so many tourist spots that are worthy of a visit, but since you hardly have time to spare you are spoilt for choice as from which place do you begin.

A similar case beckons for the city of Mysore, the cultural capital of the state of Karnataka. Mysore as a complete city has innumerable number of places to visit which includes palaces, gardens, lakes, temples and churches as well as shopping malls. This huge list makes it next to impossible to cover the entire city in a short span of one day. However, there are places in Mysore which have attached a 'compulsary visit' tag to it over the years. These are the places that you can add to your itinerary for Mysore in a day.

Prominent among them are the iconic Mysore Palace, Daria Daulat Bagh, which is the palace of Tipu Sultan, the Chamundeshwari Temple, the Srirangapatnam Temple, Mysore Zoo and the Brindavan Garden. On the other hand, there are also Delux, Delux AC as well as Volvo buses provided by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, who also organize a one day tour for the city of Mysore. The venues covered by them for the city are the Daria Daulat, Sriranganathaswamy Temple, St. Philomena’s Church, Mysore Palace, Zoological Gardens, and the Brindavan Gardens. The fares for these buses range from INR 650 to INR 850.

There are also entry fees that need to be borne by the tourists themselves. The entry to the Chamundeshwari Temple and the Srirangapatnam Temple is free. However, the following places mentioned above do have entry fees;
Daulat Daria Bagh: INR 5 for Indians and INR 100 for foreigners.
Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary: INR 20 for Indians and INR 60 for foreigners
